 What’s That About?

This week in Te Ngahere we started a DLO(Digital Learning Object) and it’s about a text extract from a book called The Promise from an author named Bernard Beckett. The Promise is about 5 teens in a bunker and their food supply is running out but they were in the bunker because they were either getting nuked or bombed. In class we were learning how to analyze and identify mood and atmosphere from a text, the hardest thing for me was trying to find the mood from the text but the easy thing was writing in the text.

Have you ever made a DLO?

 Sorting And Displaying Data

This week in Te Ngahere we did a math task called sorting data. In our groups we got two pieces of paper that had a random 16  names, stick people  and whether they had a phone or not it also says if they have facebook or snapchat. Learning how to display data at first was kind of confusing and when we got used to it, it got easier. Do you know how to sort and display data?

These are the pieces of paper we got but they’re all different--->

 Is That Ball Hard?

This week in Te Ngahere we played softball and tee-ball. First off we met a nice lady named Kasey, she was on the field teaching classes how to play softball, first we had to get familiar with the  ball. Then we had to get into positions and that’s when we got put into being the fielders. Kasey told us what fielders are supposed to do, I was a base two fielder. When the ball got hit off the tee the top part of our foot had to be on the base and when the ball comes toward us and we can’t catch it we wait for the ball to come to us and we have to catch the ball while touching the base so we get the player out. When you’re batting you have to hold the bat on the grip one hand at the bottom and the other at the top, when you hit the ball you need to run to the first base. I think the hardest part of the game is catching the ball and the easiest was hitting the ball.

Have you ever played on base two? Here’s a photo of some of the games--->
